Martin Lucas People

Martin Lucas is a video editor and producer specializing in new digital formats for production and post-production; his work has been shown at the New York Film Festival, Ars Electronica, and the Human Rights Watch Film Festival. He works as a digital media consultant for schools and universities in the New York area and teaches at Fordham University. He is a graduate of NYU Film School and a member of Paper TV.

Mary Billyou People

Mary Billyou is a camera operator and assistant in the film and video industry; her films have screened in the United States, the Czech Republic, and China. She graduated from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago MFA program in film and video in 2002 and is a recent studio graduate of the Whitney Museum's Independent Study Program. She participates in the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council Swing Space program and is finishing an installation video with support from the Experimental TV Center's Finishing Funds 2006.

Mary Flanagan People

Mary Flanagan works in networked and computer-based installation, popular culture and computer gaming; her work has been shown internationally, including the Whitney Museum of American Art 2002 Biennial. Her essays have appeared in Art Journal, Wide Angle, Convergence and Culture Machine; she created The Adventures of Josie True, the first web-based adventure game for girls. Her projects have been funded by the National Science Foundation; she teaches at Hunter College, runs the tiltFactor lab and collaborates with NYU's MRL.

Mary Griffin People

Mary Griffin is a writer of fiction, poetry and screenplays who with composer Joseph Hannan wrote Christina the Astonishing and Lovers and Sick Cattle, the first two sections of an opera trilogy; excerpts from the third opera, Paradise, were performed at Roulette in 2003. Griffin and Hannan's work has been produced at the Whitney Museum of American Art, Roulette and The Performing Garage; she also collaborates with composer Frankie Mann and Welsh video artist Terry Dimmick. She received a fellowship from The New York Foundation for the Arts, held residencies at Harvestworks, Rensselear Polytechnic Institute and Atlantic Center for the Arts, and received grants from The Phaedrus Foundation, The Rockefeller Foundation/MAP program and The Lifton Foundation; her present focus is Coincidents, a multi-media opera in collaboration with composer Leroy Jenkins.

Mary Magsamen People

Mary Magsamen received an MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art; she has exhibited at Anna Kustera Gallery and White Columns in New York City. Since her exhibition at Momenta she has screened videos and exhibited sculptures at venues including PS122, Art in General and The Knitting Factory in New York City.

Mary Magsamen and Stephen Hillerbrand People

Mary Magsamen and Stephan Hillerbrand are multi-media artists, curators and new media activists who have collaborated for five years and been exhibited nationally and internationally. Hillerbrand has received National Endowment for the Arts and Art Matters grants; Magsamen has received the Longwood Cyber Residency; both hold Masters degrees from Cranbrook Academy of Art and were awarded the 2003 Lower Manhattan Cultural Centers Artist-in-Residence Workspace Program at the Woolworth Building for their collaborative project Das Angstbauen. Their artist statement cites fantasy, role-playing and self-portraiture and a stream-of-consciousness method using digital image acquisition and manipulation to create video work.

Mary Mattingly People

Mary Mattingly, educated at Parsons School of Design (New York), Yale School of Art (Norfolk, CT) and PNCA (Portland, OR), has mounted solo exhibitions including Mary Mattingly Set (Jan. 2006), Set (Nov. 2005) and The Stage (Feb. 2003). She has exhibited in numerous group shows including Art Basel/Containers/Postitions Lifeboat (Dec. 2004) and presentations at RAM Gallerie/Foundation, Mass MOCA, Disjecta and the New York Hall of Sciences. Her bibliography includes Photography Quarterly (Mar. 2004, cover/article) and multiple reviews; awards include a Duende Residency (Rotterdam), Yale School of Art Fellowship (May 2001), the Opal Filteau Photography Scholarship (2001) and The Stephen Swirling Award for Digital Arts (2001). Her project Lifeboat/Refugee Raft began in Miami in 2004; a catalog, Mary Mattingly, was published Feb. 2003 (The Stage by Jennifer Wirtz).

Mary Ross People

Mary Ross is a fine art photographer who began using video and computers in 1976 to produce still images on film and explore early convergence of photography, video and computer technology. She produced hundreds of multimedia performances with composer/performer Eric Ross, exhibited internationally and is in collections including Kunsthaus Zurich and the International Polaroid Collection; she received grants from the National Endowment for the Arts, published in Popular Photography and Videography, authored Video in the Artroom and curated the 1998 exhibition Pioneers of Digital Photography.

Matt Adams People

Matt Adams is a member of Blast Theory, an artists' group in Britain based in London since 1991 that makes interactive performances, installations, video and mixed reality projects; the group comprises a creative team of three. Their practice combines rigorous research and development with leading edge technologies and ranges across media and disciplines; they use video and computers to question ideologies present in media-saturated information. They produce fast-cutting collages of images and actions, often appropriated from elsewhere, and have shown work in galleries, theatres, cinemas, universities and found spaces throughout Europe and beyond.

Matt Costanza is a video artist and photographer completing an MFA in the School of Film and Animation at RIT; his films present unseen or altered views of reality and his photographs offer a quiet look at the world and modernity.
