Cat Mazza is a new media artist living in Troy, New York. Her work combines knitting, digital media and labor history. She has participated in international exhibits including Radical Lace and Subversive Knitting at the Museum of Arts and Design (New York), Miniartextil at Arte & Arte (Italy) and electronic arts festivals FILE (Brazil) and Ars Electronica (Austria) where she received a "Digital Communities" award. Mazza has been a visiting artist lecturer at the Dundee Centre for Contemporary Arts in Scotland and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Her work has been written about in the New York Times, KnitKnit and MIT's Leonardo Electronic Almanac. Mazza was awarded a 2007 Rockefeller Re:New Media fellowship to develop her project Knitoscope Sampler.
