Vicky Chainey Gagnon
Vicky Chainey Gagnon Curator, Foreman Art Gallery of Bishops University Vicky Chainey Gagnon is a curator with an interest in contemporary time-based art. She has worked as an art educator at Oakville Galleries and as assistant curator to GaÎtane Verna at the Foreman Art Gallery from 2004 to 2005. Ms. Chainey Gagnon holds an M.A. in interdisciplinary studies from York University (Toronto) and a B.F.A. in film studies and art history from Concordia University's School of Cinema (Montreal).
Select curated projects by Canadian and international artists include: Izabella Pruska-Oldenhof, John Price, Teresa Ascencao, Paige Gratland and Day Milman, Shawna Dempsey, Daniel Barrow, Maya Ciarrocchi, and David Gatten. Since 2000, she has worked with the Loop Collective creating exhibitions and screenings including the Liquid Bodies series (2001-2002). She has published texts on artists Nelson Henricks, Denyse Thomasos, Irene F. Whittome, Cedar Nordbye as well as Bruce Elder, Margaret Lawther and Richard Kerr. In September 2007 she will begin her Ph.D research on the subject of contemporary curatorial practice.
