Anne-Marie Stein, former executive director of the Boston Film/Video Foundation (1988–2001), reviews BF/VF programs and operations and attributes the organization's closure to chronic undercapitalization, loss of major funders including MacArthur, constrained public support, limited fundraising capacity and short-term cash-flow pressures.
