Nicole Betancourt is the Executive Director of MediaRights.org, a website designed to promote the use of media for social change. Her first film, "Before you go: A Daughter's Diary," premiered on HBO on 1996 and won an Emmy for "Outstanding News and Documentary Individual Achievement," a Golden Spire at the San Francisco Int'l Film Festival, and two Cable Ace nominations. Betancourt has produced another feature documentary entitled "90 Miles" about how the relationships within a Cuban family are shaped by the rift between the U.S. and Cuba. Betancourt was an Associate/Field Producer for the PBS series "The Quiet Revolution" and Producer/Director of an educational video to aid survivors of hurricane Mitch entitled "Changing Course." Currently, she is a member of the National Association of Latino Independent Producers and on the board of New York Women in Film and Television. www.MediaRights.org
